The CableSolve Edge: Features

Uniquely Portable

Aside from providing management, reporting and control on the desktop, CableSolve is unique in being able to provide portability of all infrastructure and connectivity information when it is needed for problem resolution. CableSolve provides portable auditing, recording, viewing and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure anywhere in the field. All portable devices synchronize with a central network SQL database which can then be accessed from CableSolve on the desktop.

End-to-End Management

CableSolve manages the entire physical connectivity infrastructure from the structured cabling to the switches, routers, and PABXs all the way to the outlets, and peripheral equipments such as desktop PCs, printers, servers and telephones. CableSolve also manages the physical connectivity of anything else that may be connected to cabling systems such as HVAC and security systems. A complete and accurate record of the network is with the engineer all the time.

Network Discovery & Monitoring

CableSolve's SNMP module automatically interrogates network switches to discover changes in network connectivity. Coupled with CableSolve's unique physical infrastructure management tools, this provides the most accurate view of your network to date. Click here for more>

Visio Integration

CableSolve can show the exact location of equipment and ports on a floor plan at the touch of a button. This can save time and effort in locating equipment prevent incorrect moves and changes, and eliminate the need to crawl under desks to find or hunt for outlets. Click here for more>

Asset Tracking

CableSolve can show exact locations of equipment and ports on a floor plan on both desktop and handheld clients - the ideal time saver when locating equipment in the field. It records any information you want to maintain relating to the asset aside from the unique ability to link network changes to physical locations, this way IT assets are tracked more accurately than ever before.

Advanced Audit

The Advanced Audit Module allows you to examine and compare whether the equipment configured in CableSolve is the same as the physical assets present in the facility.CableSolve audits connections in patch panels to determine and resolve inaccuracies in the cabling records. Audit of patch panels is a breeze as no cable tracing is required. Click here for more>

Work Orders and Projects Management

CableSolve manages work orders for efficient day-to-day task management via the desktop and Pocket PCs. This allows equipment reservation and work to be logged in CableSolve, assigned to an engineer, and tracked to completion.

Software Management

CableSolve's Software Management Module allows you to manage software assets and accurately determine what software licenses are installed on each PC. The management of installed software licenses offers substantial cost savings by preventing purchase of unnecessary software, as well as providing information to purchase upgrade licenses rather than full software installations. Pathway Management

CableSolve allows you to manage conduits and pathways in accordance with the TIA/EIA 606A administration standards. Pathway management is important in larger installations to determine the route a cable takes (including building to building) in case it needs maintenance, to determine what would be affected if a conduit is damaged, and to determine the utilization of existing pathways in order to plan for upgrades.

Full Reporting Capability

CableSolve provides full reporting of equipment, connection and work order reports that can be used for planning and management audit requirements. All data can be imported from or exported to Excel spreadsheets or asset management systems and cable testing devices for detailed customized reports.

Fully Customizable/ Future Proof

CableSolve can support any type of hardware, including new systems and legacy systems via a series of user-configurable templates. Templates are arranged in a hierarchy which allows the user to build on definitions of generic or existing components, and to specify additional attributes or information to be stored for the equipment. CableSolve can support current and new cabling standards and communications and peripheral equipment as they come out.

Cabling Hardware Independent

CableSolve can be used with all types of patch panel and connectivity hardware; modular, 210, 110, 66 block, etc. It works with existing cabling installations regardless of cable vendor or performance type, cross connect or inter-connect configurations.

Supports Standards

CableSolve supports compliance with installation standards ANSI/TIA/EIA 606A , EN 50174 PT2, and ISO 14763. Warnings are generated whenever connections are not compliant to ANSI/TIA/EIA 568B, ISO/IEC 11801, and CENELEC EN 50173 thereby improving the reliability and availability of networks.
