VISIO INTEGRATION IN CABLESOLVE
CableSolve includes the ability to display the floor-plan layout, show where each piece of equipment is located, and export and import diagrams to and from Microsoft Visio. Floor plans can be viewed on both the desktop and handheld CableSolve clients.
This functionality is useful to precisely locate equipment, particularly for engineers who are not familiar with the entire layout of a large office or warehouse, to audit equipment in physical spaces, and to provide more accurate planning capabilities for Moves, Adds and Changes where precise locations of outlets can be displayed.
Viewing The Floor Plan
Any selected component in CableSolve can bring you to the exact location of the said component on the floor plan. CableSolve will show the spaces, allow you to move equipment and save it, as well as drill down to a lower space to show more components, etc.)
Importing and Configuring Spaces
CableSolve can group the spaces. Clicking once allows you to change the outermost space e.g building), clicking the second time for the next space (e.g. computer room), clicking a third time to change the next (e.g. comms cabinet). ‘Reset Spaces' lets you configure the spaces from scratch, and starts with a ‘tiled' view of the spaces which you have to configure. Spaces are color-coded to represent newly added ones and those with ‘lower level' floor plans. E.g. the computer room may have its own floor plan.

Unlike other graphical information systems, floor plans can be imported and configured by anyone familiar with Visio. CableSolve allows overview and detailed floor plans to be linked together. Equipment can be exported to Visio for up-to-date printouts of the IT infrastructure.
